Women’s Soccer Tryout Information & Meetings

We are extremely excited to be nearing our season.  The interest in the Women’s Soccer program is high and a large number of athletes registered for tryouts.  Please, if you have not completed and submitted your physical through Parentvue,  do so ASAP.  Athletes are not permitted to participate in any activities (conditioning, tryouts, practices, games) without a cleared physical.  Additionally, only athletes with a completed and cleared physical and will be offered a roster spot.

Listed are some important dates and information. Please read carefully.  We share facilities with a large number of winter and spring sport participants.  Therefore, times and locations can change unexpectedly. Please, frequently check for email communication.

Important Dates:

Athletes MUST have a cleared physical to participate.  I am aware there is a DPL showcase that some athletes may be participating in.  Those athletes should see Coach Page in room 238 before the break.  The 4th is not a school day so please make transportation arrangements in advance.

January 4th—Mandatory NEW PLAYER MEETING-Immediately following Conditioning.  Informational meeting regarding tryouts: what to expect, how the process will work, how long they will go, how teams are selected, what the coaches’ expectations are.  The coaching staff will also answer any questions the athletes may have.

All Tryouts are on the Stadium Field

January 9th—New Player Tryouts 345-600-Tryouts for players new to the program.  If you were not on a roster the previous year you MUST attend this session.

However, last minute changes can and will happen.  Flexibility is a requirement when participating in extracurricular activities.

Recommendations for tryouts and training sessions:

-Dress in layers, it’s January in Georgia.  The weather can be unpredictable…frequently check the forecast

-Bring a water bottle and fill it before coming to the field.

-Be on time.  If you are late RUN to the field when you arrive.

-Have a healthy snack you can eat before tryouts.  Lunch sometimes doesn’t cut it.

-Always bring running shoes.

-Hoodies are permitted during training however, hoods are not.  Therefore, bring a hat.

-Sweatpants are not permitted during training.  Before and after is fine, not during.

Hoods and sweatpants are restrictive and limit players during training sessions.

If you are in need of clarification or have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.
