The Walton Sports Medicine team is vital to the success of our soccer program! The below video highlights the resources and healthcare services provided to our student athletes.

The Walton Sports Medicine Program operates out of The Hugh C. Mcleod III, M.D. Sports Medicine Facility in Walton High School.

Anthony Hunter – Head Athletic Trainer | Walton High School     Send email
Tony HunterAnthony Hunter is in his fifth year as the Head Athletic Trainer for Walton High School's Sports Medicine Program. Hunter oversees the injury prevention, emergency care, evaluation and management, as well as therapeutic rehabilitation for student athletes at Walton High School.

Prior to arriving at Walton High School, Hunter worked three years as Assistant Athletic Trainer for Kennesaw State football team where he was in charge of daily operations including: preventative care, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries to student-athletes. He also maintained medical records of student-athletes and supervised graduate and undergraduate students.

Before Kennesaw State, he held an Athletic Trainer Fellowship at Oregon State University in their recreational sports department.

Hunter received his master’s degree in Sport Performance from Ball State in 2013 while working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with their football team.

After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Minnesota State University in 2011, he worked with the Green Bay Packers as a training camp intern in sports medicine.

Hunter is from Kansas City, Missouri. He currently resides in Dallas, GA with his Wife Shayzell and four kids Zariyah, Anthony III, Zarina, and Alexander.
Courtney Grayson – Associate Athletic Trainer | Northside
 Courtney GraysonCourtney Silvera Grayson joins us for her 3rd year at Walton High School after spending 8 years at Kennesaw State University. During her tenure at Kennesaw State, Silvera Grayson worked with a variety of teams including Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse and Men’s Basketball. She started with the Kennesaw State Sports Medicine team the Fall of 2011. 

Prior to arriving to Kennesaw, Silvera Grayson worked three years as an Intern Athletic Trainer and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of North Florida. While working at North Florida, she earned her Master’s Degree from the University of North Florida in Public Health. 

Silvera Grayson is a graduate of the University of Florida having earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training.

A native of Orlando, Florida, Courtney currently resides in Acworth, Ga. with her husband, Keith. 
Taylor Hayes – Associate Athletic Trainer | PT Solutions
 Taylor HayesTaylor Hayes is our Athletic Trainer at Walton High school from PT Solutions. He has been certified for 8 years previously working with the United States Army at Fort Benning Georgia for four years. He graduated from Georgia College & State University with his B.S. in Athletic Training and a M.S. in Exercise Science with a Concentration in Rehab Sciences from California University of Pennsylvania.

His favorite sport to work is soccer and his favorite thing about being an AT is seeing his athletes getting back to playing their sport after a tough injury. 
Francesca Reaves – Associate Athletic Trainer | Northside
Francesca ReavesFrancesca Reaves is new to our Sports Medicine Team here at Walton. Francesca is a Florida native who received her Bachelor of Athletic Training from The University of Central Florida where she got a chance to work with the Women’s Basketball, Football, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Cheer teams.  While doing her graduate work at the University of North Texas where she studied Sport Management, she had the opportunity to work full time with the Women’s Basketball, Swimming/Dive, and Tennis Teams.  Francesca joins us with experience from the high school, D1 collegiate, and clinical levels of Athletic Training. Francesca resides in Sandy Springs with her husband Tristan.

Education: Georgia College and State University- BS in Athletic Training, California University of Pennsylvania- Masters in Exercise science with a concentration in Rehab Sciences

Certifications: Certified Speed Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist
Dr. Amber Berry - Team Sports Medicine Physician | Northside
Amber BerryAmber Berry, MD is the newest edition to the Walton High School Sports Medicine team. She is a current sports medicine fellow with Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute. She completed residency in Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine/ Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. She graduated from medical school from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. Prior to medical school, she obtained a Master in Medical Science from the University of South Florida and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Georgia earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Behavior through the College of Public Health.

Dr. Berry has experience providing a variety of sports coverage at the high school and collegiate level and extensive training in caring for pediatric patients. She is excited to immerse herself in the East Cobb community and build a lasting relationship with Walton High School. She is a native of Valdosta, GA and currently resides in Sandy Springs.
